Located on 1022 Alabar Ave. in Waterloo, the Calico Hen House was established in 1995. And while you never know what you’re going to find, you are guaranteed to enjoy your visit at this cozy, locally owned shop.
Unlike other stores, when you walk in you immediately get a warm, fuzzy feeling. The comfortable air, the large, soft rugs on the floor, and the sweet smell of antiques gives the store a homey feeling. The employees help to make the store feel welcoming as well, greeting you with kind smiles.
Inside, there is an abundance of things to buy. They have a wide variety of antiques from large pieces of furniture to small
knick-knacks. You’ll find things that you wouldn’t be able to find in your everyday department stores. There are many unique decorations, plants and flowers, China hutches, and a plethora of other things, including decorations for each holiday as well.
Shopping for gifts for the holidays can be exhausting. Running from store to store trying to find something for grandparents, parents, and etcetera. The Calico Hen House makes it so much easier and allows you to get all your shopping done at one store. You can expect to find something inside for everyone.
